Trends AW 26-27
Explore the four macro trend themes for the season — colors, materials and fabrics for each.
Playscape
Maximalist Fun Expression
The Playscape theme, where play, color and sensory movement take center stage, comes to life in fabrics through optical illusion, embossing, plush surfaces and layered structures. Embossed tricots, jacquard checks, glossy nylons, fuzzy knits and colorful filled fabrics give the theme a joyful, experiential voice. Carrying a childlike spirit, this theme blends digital aesthetics with analog texture play, emphasizing deformation, asymmetry and a sense of humor in its fabrics — a bold, tactile and hyper-visual experience built to stand out on the exhibition floor.
Individuals who love expressing themselves, who aren't afraid of color, and who see design as a playground. What they wear expresses both their mood and their character. Puffer details in particular create a silhouette that is soft yet eye-catching, reinforcing a theme of "visibility" through the interplay of transparency and volume. These designs, representing fashion's transformation into a playground, create an effect that is both emotional and experimental.
This theme takes shape through a search for optical illusion, rhythm, volume and a sense of play in woven and knitted fabrics. Forms carry both a nostalgic feel — school uniforms, houndstooth checks, sweaters — and a playful sensibility that winks at digital aesthetics.

- Polyester/spandex or polyamide-based tricots
- Optical movement achieved through jacquard technique
- Filled polyester or nylon-based fabrics
- Lightweight cotton-polyester blend poplin or weave
- Acrylic or polyamide-based plush yarn
- Wool-acrylic or alpaca blend tricot
Texture plays artificiality against naturalness — synthetic furry surfaces set beside traditional handcraft details — in a collage-like structure where contrasting fabrics are brought together in asymmetric, multi-layered constructions. Synthetic fur-like plush surfaces, stonewashed or distressed denim effects, voluminous appliqué work on transparent tulle, glossy and crinkled technical taffetas, and structural yet flexible poplin and jersey variations all come into play.
Beatroots
Primitive Raw Healing
Where craftsmanship meets naturalness, the Beatroots theme brings traditional techniques together with a contemporary aesthetic. It's defined by natural materials like organic cotton, linen, viscose and wool, plant-based dyes, and coarse-touch surfaces. Jacquard textures, retro geometric patterns, embossed surfaces and gradient transitions heighten the theme's pastoral strength. The color palette stays close to the earth; a handmade feel, textural depth, and a refined simplicity rooted in origin take center stage — a fabric aesthetic that is both nostalgic and sustainable.
Drawing from nature's boundless inspiration, Beatroots offers a visual and tactile space of discovery in textiles. Working with organic cotton, recycled fibers and natural dyes, it embraces a production approach that respects nature. Rock-inspired embossed surfaces, fluid floral prints and batik transitions blend traditional craft techniques with contemporary digital textile applications. Patterns take their cues from nature's own traces — rock textures, mossy terrain and local flora and fauna, translated into fluid color blocks and gradient effects that reflect nature's vitality.
Melange yarns, mixed-color woven tweed fabrics, natural wool surfaces, jacquard tricots and fur-trim fabrics.

- Fine high-count wool
- Wool blend herringbone twill
- T/R twill blend (Terylene/Rayon)
- Viscose blend
- Jacquard blend (polyester/cotton/viscose)
- Corduroy (cotton-spandex)
- Loop wool (wool/acrylic/nylon)
Loop yarns stand out with small loops and color combinations. Showy retro-effect yarns, metallic fibers, core-spun yarns and metal filaments create striking shine effects. 3D nub yarns build a raised, granular surface structure, offering both visual depth and tactile texture. Wool-like yarns offer a nostalgic style with a vintage look, fuzzy textures and micro-brushed surfaces. Linen-blend cottons feature in year-round product groups.
Biomimetic textures, gradient camouflage, natural floral motifs and weave-inspired patterns.
Royal Hippie
Archive Royal Historic
The Royal Hippie theme blends a nostalgic bohemian spirit with aristocratic elegance. Jacquard silks, brocade-look surfaces, cashmere blends and velvets are this theme's core fabrics. Patterns inspired by traditional handcraft are enriched with carpet-like textures, natural motifs and three-dimensional embossing. Fabrics are designed to be soft-handed, heavy-weight and showy, creating a feeling that is both opulent and intimate. The style language reflects a reinterpreted, free and theatrical version of a luxurious past.
Blended Femininity & Bold Attitude — the modern understanding of style focuses more on material and experience than on form. Soft forms, warm textures and fluid volumes stand out in the fabric, carrying a language of luxury that is comfortable, embracing and in touch with the physical world. It emphasizes the importance of finding moments of elegance and beauty in daily life.
A burgundy, plum, cherry and mulberry-gradient palette lends a more intellectual air to the design world, while also referencing nostalgia — alongside brocade-like pattern prints, carpet-texture-reminiscent patterns, and retro leather-made jewelry.
Polyester/nylon filament yarns, ideal for technical structures that combine lightness and durability; polyester-viscose blend weaves, for a natural feel and more sophisticated, relaxed silhouettes; and noble textures like silk, cashmere and velvet, bringing the elegance of the past together with today's understated luxury.

Jacquard fabrics, standing out for their rich texture and pattern depth, redefine the concept of luxury with contemporary elegance this season. Tone-on-tone patterns add subtle movement to the fabric surface, high-resolution jacquard effects interact with light for a dynamic look, and compositions inspired by nature, architecture and historical motifs add a cultural and artistic layer. Used especially in made-to-measure pieces, voluminous jackets, elegant dresses and fluid skirts, they create a sense of luxury that is both nostalgic and innovative. A deep, intense palette of red, mulberry, cherry, pomegranate and forest-fruit tones completes the direction — minimalist simplicity meeting dramatic expressive power, with fluid transitions from poetic to plain, masculine to feminine, classic tailoring to experimental form.
SOUL-UTIONS
Neo-Adventurer Y3K Tech
The Soul-utions theme reinterprets high-tech functional fabrics in a chic and elegant way. Tencel, silk, wool blends, high-density technical weaves and semi-matte, semi-glossy surfaces support this theme's sophisticated stance. Technical finishes like heat regulation, UV protection, water repellency and antibacterial properties take center stage in the fabrics. With fabrics comfortable enough for everyday wear yet smart enough to offer innovative solutions, the definition of functional luxury is redefined for the modern urbanite.
Representing a next-generation fashion outlook inspired by the fusion of nature and the digital world, this theme reflects a contemporary, minimal and forward-looking aesthetic language through fluid, water-like forms, functional design and body-freeing cuts. Opal tones, purple-blue gradients and materials that shift under changing light create an atmosphere that is both futuristic and romantic. A digitally-enhanced sense of shine runs through this theme, where refined textiles create a synergy of touch and sight — high-density woven structures, integrated with performance fibers, provide both resistance to weather conditions and breathability.

Double-rib structures develop cotton-wool blend knits; padding structures suit plush, warmth-retaining knits; single-face jacquard structures create jacquard cotton-wool knit designs. Silk-wool blends and satin glossy finishes pair with silk, Tencel and Cupro for a silky touch, breathable feel and fluid drape. In polyester-spandex blend flat-woven fabrics, embossing or caustic puckering achieves a seersucker shirting-fabric effect.
